JANUARY 8th, 2012
WELCOME TO THE MAYAN CELEBRATION OF 2012 - On December 21st we don't plan on going anywhere and plan on staying here for years to come. We finally have a new selection of stones to bring out for the new year! Shipping problems with US Customs are now going away as well, not that any of our holiday customers were happy with Customs and Homeland Security holding incoming parcels during the largest gift season of the year.
We have some really rare stones that we have added to the Aztec Moon site along with a sprinkling of agates, fossils and other gems. Like the extremely rare Cheetah Agate from Brazil with inclusions of beautiful blue Apatite - when these are gone we will not be getting anymore unfortunately. Plus, we have some new rare Obsidian stones - a few extremely high grade Velvet Obsidian, like we had 3 years ago... (our polisher found a chunk in the back of his rock pile) and we have the amazing Fire Obsidian - exclusively from the Glass Buttes volcanic domes in Oregon. Extremely difficult to cut with micro-thin layers of color, you never know what wonderful surprise you might find! (or what beautiful fire you might destroy too)
Many other new stones are here, like: gemmy Chrysophrase, the amazing Hypersthene from Canada, some Pietersite and a new lot of high grade Charoite that is getting very difficult to get out of Russia anymore. So take your time and check out our new treasures! In the next week we hope to have alot more Fire Agate cabs and a selection of Fire Opal that we traded with a traveler from Chihuahua during the Navidad holiday season.

We just received 15 new Obsidan cabs, some rounded on both sides "palm stones. All are fairly large super glass polished specimens, amazingly enough, they are from Oregon! (on the west coast of the US) Very interesting specimens, a little more transparent than Mexican obsidian. It really amazed our polisher when we showed these to him, the camera did not pick these colors up to their full potential, because the reflections are quite bright in most of the photos - very difficult to photograph. Check them out!

Hope you are all having a great holiday season... our parcel of Pakistani rutilated quartz finally cleared customs and are now up on our website - some amazing rutiles and very gemmy cabochons that we are selling for well under the average of $4.00 (usd) per carat. Some excellent stones that we know will go fast! Be sure to check back the first of the year when we unveil an amazing collection of new Rainbow Obsidian pieces, each one is a custom piece of art with an amazing window polished finish from the only pulidor (cutter and polisher) we have found that knows how the layers work and how to get the best out of each stone.
